St Ninian’s Cathedral is over 150 years old and is an A listed building. This means that it is recognized by Historic Scotland as being of national or architectural importance and is one of only 300 buildings throughout Perth and Kinross to merit this status. In terms of ensuring that the fabric of the building and its precious contents are properly preserved this requires considerable annual expenditure. In addition there is the general revenue expenditure required for running and maintaining what is a busy parish church. This amounts to over £2,000 per week.

Through fund-raising efforts and the weekly giving at services the congregation are able to raise much of the revenue cost. For the larger projects recourse requires to be made to outside bodies and trusts for assistance. Unlike the English Cathedrals there is no special help given by government.

If you feel able to give a donation to our funds, however large or small, we will be very grateful. Donations can be made to either the St Ninian’s Cathedral Restoration Fund or to the general account through St Ninian’s Cathedral. In addition, if you pay sufficient tax, then by using the Gift Aid procedure the Cathedral is able to recover a further 28% of the donated sum from the tax authorities.

Appropriate forms can be downloaded by clicking on the link for a Standing Order and also for the Gift Aid form which will enable recovery of the tax. If you are making a single donation by cheque, if possible, click on the link to down load the Gift Aid form. All completed forms and/or cheques should be sent to the Treasurer at the Cathedral Office.

If you have enjoyed a visit to the Cathedral please do consider giving a donation to one of our Funds to assist with restoration and/or general financial support. Gift Aid envelopes are also available at the entrance door. Rest assured that your donation will be much appreciated and wisely used.

Should you wish any further information please contact the Treasurer at the Cathedral Office.
